I was shocked to see that the Romanian outscored both Nastia and Shawn in finals. Her landings were amazing, but definitely not overall better routines in my opinion. What did everyone else think?
I think Sandra Izbasa was the rightful winner. She actually had the most difficult routine.
Shawn could have challenged her - but she had a problem in her routine by not completing one of her twists and stumbling out of it.
Nastia`s routine is beautiful, but her A-score was not enough to give her a chance to challenge Sandra.
I didn't remember her name when you mentioned it, so I looked up the routine on YouTube. Couldn't find her Olympic one, but her set from European Championships was pretty phenomenal:
I totally agree! How could Shawn not have won? Not only did Nastia get underscored on floor but on her vault in the all around finals!
Really people just get huffy when USA doesn't win gold.
