Playmaker Knee Brace
The Donjoy Playmaker Knee Brace by DJO is a popular intermediate level ACL knee brace. This Donjoy knee brace provides dependable support for mild to moderate ACL and/or PCL, MCL and LCL instabilities. Donjoy knee braces use a patented "Four Points of Leverage" strap design to enhance overall knee stability during pivoting movements. This hinged knee brace has polycentric hinges that conform to the knee joint's natural motion for uninhibited movement of the knee. The Donjoy Playmaker has a low profile design for increased comfort. This product serves as an excellent return to sport knee brace or as an orthopedic knee brace for patients with arthritis, meniscus tears, or undergoing rehabilitation following an ACL reconstruction. Donjoy hinged knee braces use quality materials in their constuction, and this model is a great choice for a variety of orthopedic knee conditions.

The Drytex Playmaker, suitable for mild to moderate ACL, MCL and LCL instabilities, is a neoprene alternative constructed of a unique nylon core and polyester Lycra fabric that allows for improved airflow. The lightweight polyester-nylon weave fabric is ideal for patients who have neoprene-based irritations or allergies, or live in warm weather climates. Available with or without open popliteal cutout (opening behind the knee).

* Polycentric hinges with contoured condyle shells

Solid Brace
Yellowj reviewed May 1, 2008 at 12:29 pm

I blew out my knee in a freak vault accident and this was the first brace the athletic department gave me (that's why the review says 0 dollars). Good brace for moderate knee injuries, but was a little less supportive for my needs. I eventually upgraded to a heavier, more expensive brace.

Good support for athletes that need support, but their knee is still in good shape.  If you have already blown out your ACL, you should probably upgrade to a higher quality brace for better support.
