Reisport HIGH BAR Grips - Hook and Loop Reviews

Not the best for heavy use

Posted

Pros: Thin enough to get a good feel for the bar

Cons: Stretches out too quickly for heavy users

I'm a 160 lb high bar specialist (meaning, I do it 6 days a week) - and one pair of these grips would last me a week at most. Granted - that's better than most other brands. I do a lot of eagle work and so I like a thin grip (like these) that will really let me feel the bar. But, these guys break in and break out too fast. For heavy users, I definitely recommend upgrading to Reisport Protecs - they'll take a little longer to break in but it's definitely worth it. I can't use anything else.

Decent Lifespan/ Good for Elite Gymnasts

Pros: They are durable, quickly adjusted, and break in to fit your hand and wrist well.

Cons: Buckle grips may be better since they may get looser as a routine progresses. Lacks protex.

I used these grips for class 2 and 1 (currenlty level 10). They take a little longer to break in but last longer than other grips I have used. I adjust the velco a lot before I go, otherwise I would recommend the buckle grips because by the end of a routine they can get looser around the wrist. They are great for upper level gymnasts who do a lot of releases, pir. work, and high bar regularly. If you are a bigger gymnast I might recommend the ones with the protex insert because they last the longest of any grips I have seen or used. I would reommend these for most high school and college gymnasts.
